Biography

For over 27 years Vicki has tirelessly given her time to the success and growth of thousands of entrepreneurs. As a 22-year volunteer instructor for SBA/SCORE marketing classes, she inspired and launched business dreams into reality with her very practical approach. As founding President of San Diego Women Inc., Vicki created a fun, yet learning environment for San Diego’s women Entrepreneurs. For more than 6 years Vicki served on the Board of the Greater San Diego Business Association an organization of more than 900 business owners. During that time, Vicki came up with the concept of a collaborative billboard, pushed for a presence in the PRIDE parade, initiated a television ad campaign and developed the commercial, and created the long term “Friends do business with friends” motto. In 2007 Vicki co-founded The San Diego Speakers Guild. Having been active with many organizations, it was apparent that finding great presenters was a challenge for organizations. Public speaking is a great way for business owners to promote their products and services. Thus, The San Diego Speakers Guild was born as a community service solution to these two interlocking needs. Learn more about the San Diego Speakers Guild. With all of that on her plate she also runs a very successful public relations, graphic design and advertising agency. Vicki is an inspiration that she uses gracefully to assist others in achieving their goals. Although many of her clients gross in the millions of dollars, Vicki helps numerous low-fee small clients “bootstrap” themselves to success. Vicki has put a team of people together to support her clients, each one an expert at what they do. As Vicki shepherds clients through the maze of marketing off line and on line options, she creates and manages an environment for her team that fosters a culture of ownership, capturing the undying loyalty of her clients. In 2010 Vicki’s company was awarded a coveted contract with the San Diego International Airport’s Green Build expansion of the airport. The contract is to reach out to make local small businesses aware of opportunities to gain contracts with the expansion. With an emphasis on minority and disadvantaged business, Vicki’s grassroots experience is invaluable. Ad agencies have always been for the “big” guys and gals. Vicki understands the small business owner, their budget constraints, fears, and lack of understanding of marketing basics. Vicki has made advertising and promotion available to the small business community by patiently working with them at their pace and within their budgets while educating them along the way. A tireless volunteer, Vicki has organized and put on workshops for the gay and lesbian community, taught classes for over 22 years for the SBA/SCORE organization, speaks to business and civic groups throughout the country. Vicki has spoken to numerous business organizations including the Latino Emerging Business Association, San Diego Association of Bridal Consultants, The International Convention of Leads Club, the Chula Vista Business Association, the Carlsbad Chamber, National Assoc. of Women Mortgage Brokers, The Sports Retailers Convention, the SCORE Women’s Breakfast, and many more. Vicki, who loves nothing more than getting together with other business owners to learn “The New World of Marketing” coordinates a small business meetup with over 700 members www.meetup.com/sdmarketing.

MY CAUSE

Military Charities

I've been a trainer on small business marketing for nearly 30 years. (www.marketing-impressions.com) I've built a relationship with an organization that serves disabled veterans. Not all returning vets want to become an employee. Some vets are disabled to the point where they cannot hold a job. We're working on a training program to help vets start and run their own businesses. This program will include a "Mind Masters" (www.mind-masters.com) group which helps them to set goals and achieve them with the support of other vets and accountability. Contributions will be used to contract with space, produce materials, and engage social media tools to support the program.
